Beautiful Pure silk scarves made using Bandhani tye dye technique.

These are a collection of scarves commissioned to be made by a group of women in a small village outside Kolkata who specialise in this craft. Bandhej, as it is known, is a form of tye dye where a grain of rice is wrapped in the silk with a thread that is wound around it multiple times to create a resist to the dye. This is done in a pattern over the whole scarf and then dyed. They then unwind the threads. This is a very labour intensive and skilled craft lovingly made specially for The House of Eunice.
