This is a new venture by Rachel Joseph in response to the many customer’s who asked if she could take them along on one of her trips to India with them.
This first year of this new venture offer’s two tours.
One is a 6-day Workshop in the art of Dabu – mud resist hand block printing. It is based in Jaipur and travels out to our printers’ compound in Bagru daily to participate in the workshop. It focuses on the use of vegetable dyes especially indigo.
The second trip is a textile and heritage tour of Gujarat. This is a 9-day tour taking in some the most spectacular crafts still being produced in small villages on the way up to Bhuj where the Ajrak printers are located. It includes a safari into the desert region of Kutch and the salt lakes of the Great Ram where migratory pelican’s and flamingo’s congregate.
