Ajrakh is a form of traditional hand block printing and resist dyeing using indigo, madder and printed mordants. Handmade in Kutch in Gujarat and produced by the Khatri community of Artisan printers and dyers. Ajrakh is extremely complex and requires a 16 stage printing process to achieve the finished design. This table cloth is a beautiful example of this highly prized form of textile patterning.
